Originally timber merchants from the Southern state of Kerala, KC Mathew & Sons took form in 1980. The business was centered around the import of premium woods from across the globe.
After 16 years in 1996, the group acquired their first resort property in Kovalam ‘Coconut Bay Beach Resort’, founded by the Group Chairman & Managing Director Mr. Ranjith Mathew. A first of its kind, this beach side property was a Green Leaf certified Ayurveda inspired Luxury Retreat’. A loyal base of wellness clientele and several esteemed International accolades and recognitions including German Travel Forum ‘Holiday Check’ shaped Coconut Bay’s early success. Eventually this property gave way to the undertaking of the government sea port project. The wellness hospitality industry continued to flourish in India and The Nattika Beach Ayurveda Resort, Thrissur debuted in December 2009. A seasoned brand in the Ayurveda hospitality circuit, the vision for the new project was to create a self sustained model and in 2018 this resulted in ‘Nattika Life’, a well equipped, dedicated production house of 1500 sq. ft. that produces Ayurvedic oils including Thaila’s and medicated oils. The monthly production currently is an output of more than 1000 liters across an inventory of 22 different Ayurvedic oils. Guests have the option of purchasing both 500 ml and 250 ml glass bottles packed and sealed Nattika Life Ayurveda Oils, currently available in the Souvenir shop and Ayurveda Pharmacy at Nattika, Thrissur.
The year 2019 had a landmark project brewing; ‘Hotel Rockholm’ Kovalam opened doors in November 2019. Originally a family run seaside hotel in 1980’s it is now a full fledged Yoga & Ayurveda retreat by the Lighthouse beach. With an inventory of 25 sea facing rooms and suites this hotel has preserved the essence of the original design with a refreshing facelift. The décor is minimalistic punctuated by a speak easy, art deco architectural concept.
